How the Eagles hiring of Nick Sirianni will impact QB Jalen Hurts

The Eagles are set to name Nick Sirianni as the teams’ new head coach and although most of the conversation will center around how this impacts Carson Wentz, Jalen Hurts has a stake in this franchise as well.

The Eagles could be all-in on quarterback Carson Wentz or there could be a summertime quarterback competition.

Sirianni’s semblance of staff and how he responds to questions about both Wentz and Hurts will tell a lot about the Eagles’ plans moving forward.

The Colts’ offense has been ranked in the top-10 two of the past three seasons, and this season Philip Rivers completed 68% of his passes for 4,169 yards with 24 touchdowns to 11 interceptions in 2020.

Sirianni has worked as a quarterbacks coach and receivers coach since coming into the league with the Chiefs in 2009, but Hurts could be the most mobile and versatile signal-caller that he’s had the opportunity to coach.

We just have to wait and see where Hurts lands in a decision that is firmly centered around the revival of Carson Wentz.
