Eagles add hulking offensive tackle

The Philadelphia Eagles added a big boy to the mix for their offensive line with training camp right around the corner.

Offensive tackle Michael Bamiro was signed as a free agent after the Stony Brook product was denied an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA and deemed ineligible for the NFL’s supplemental draft. Baimro, who started his college career at Pitt in 2008, didn’t realize last fall would be his final season playing in college. He redshirted a year at Stony Brook and that is what cost him.

Bamiro started 33 games at right tackle and is massive at 6-8, 344 pounds. Some believe he would have been a late-round prospect and more than a handful of teams were looking at him in recent weeks. The Pennsylvania native will get a shot to stick with the Eagles.
