Eagle-eyed fans spot potential new Warriors addition via Instagram story

On September 13, HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported the Golden State Warriors had held workouts for multiple veterans. However, things heated up when some eagle-eyed fans spotted a new name above a locker space in Golden State’s locker room, courtesy of an Instagram post from Moses Moody.

Juan Toscano-Anderson‘s name was on a locker between Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins. However, there was no doubt that this image was new, as both Brandin Podziemski‘s and Cory Joseph‘s lockers are also visible in the photograph. It’s worth noting that Moody’s Instagram post had no caption or subtext, which is why fans have begun to speculate.

Toscano-Anderson is no stranger to the Bay Area. The 30-year-old wing spent three seasons with the Warriors between 2019 and 2022, winning a championship as Golden State defeated the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Last season, Toscano-Anderson split his time between the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz, making 52 regular-season appearances, averaging 3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Golden State currently has two open roster spots. Ideally, the Warriors would look to round out their roster by adding some additional wing depth and another big man. However, Mike Dunleavy appears to be comfortable with biding his time and ensuring he gets the right players rather than just adding bodies.

The Warriors’ core rotation isn’t getting any younger. In fact, their average age took a steep increase this summer with the addition of Chris Paul. As such, ensuring the team has valuable depth, with players that can contribute in impactful ways, is going to be vital to the team’s overall chances of success.

Toscano-Anderson may have joined the Warriors, or Moody’s image might simply have been trolling. Either way, there will be some additional new faces on Golden State’s roster, either now or in the near future.
