Dunkers, scorers and more: South Shore High School Boys Basketball All-Scholastic Team
For the first time in the statewide tournament era, the South Shore did not have a state champion high school boys basketball team.
There was still a ton of talent. Five teams reached the Elite 8, highlighted by Matthew Youngquist leading No. 38 Middleboro on a Cinderella run. Norwell (led by three names on this list) dominated the South Shore League while Michael Porter led Scituate in the Patriot League.
The area was filled with elite scorers. Tristan Rodriguez, a 2023 state champ at Archbishop Williams, had consecutive 40-point games. In the Patriot League, Quincy's Daniel Adams had a 46-point outing, Pembroke's Matthew Delcore had three 30-plus point games, and Hingham's Chase Mello dropped a school-record 45 in a tourney-clinching win. Holbrook's Armani Perkins scored his 1,000th career point early in the winter.
Without further ado, let's highlight the area's best on the basketball court.
