'You don't have an offer': An awkward moment between Jeff Teague, Purdue basketball
Purdue basketball's 2007 recruiting class was strong, including Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore. Imagine if Jeff Teague was part of that group, too.
Teague did.
On a recent episode of the "Club 520" podcast, Teague said he was ready to commit to the Boilermakers during his junior season at Pike High School.
The coming season: Purdue's schedule includes Gonzaga, Arizona, Xavier, Big Ten opponents
There was just one hitch.
"I committed," he said. "They were like, 'You don't have an offer.'"
Oh.
Teague, entering his first year as Pike's coach, wound up at Wake Forest, where he played two seasons before a 12-year NBA career.
