Dolphins adding CB Kendall Fuller as successor to Xavien Howard

The Dolphins found their replacement for Xavien Howard on Thursday, coming to terms with Kendall Fuller, who helped Kansas City win the Super Bowl five seasons ago.

Fuller, 29, agreed to a two-year deal worth $16.5 million, ESPN reported.

Pro Football Focus rated Fuller the seventh-best cornerback in the NFL last season.

Fuller will be expected to line up opposite Jalen Ramsey in coordinator Andrew Weaver’s defense this season, with Kader Kohou, Nik Needham and Cam Smith also available in various packages.

Fuller was drafted by Washington in the third round in 2016 out of Virginia Tech. He played two seasons in Washington before joining the Chiefs for two seasons. He then returned to Washington for the past four seasons.

Fuller has not made a Pro Bowl but was named to PFF’s second team as an All-Pro in 2023.

Over the past four seasons, Fuller has played virtually every defensive snap, totaling 3,949 snaps in that span (except for five games missed in those four years).

In 117 games, he has 16 career interceptions, 75 passes defensed and 486 tackles.

Quarterbacks had a 120.4 passer rating against him last season, highest of his career, according to Pro Football Reference. He conceded nine touchdowns in 80 targets.
