What does Svi Mykhailiuk bring to the Boston Celtics?

The Boston Celtics have signed Svi Mykhailiuk to a one-year contract, as confirmed by Shams Charania and Michael Scotto. Mykhailiuk, a 6-foot-7 small forward, played for the Charlotte Hornets last season, putting up impressive numbers with an average of 10.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

The Ukrainian forward shot 44% from the field and 40% from 3-point range, and is a sneaky-good ball mover and passer as well. This signing adds another shooter to the Celtics’ bench with the foot speed to play down a position and the size to play up when Boston goes small. The move raises questions about the status of other players the team has been tied to as potential signing targets, especially Blake Griffin.

To talk it over, the hosts of the “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast got together for a rapid reaction episode on what Mykhailiuk brings to Boston.
