Devin Booker praises Allen Iverson's Reebok 'Question' shoes, disses Shaq's

Devin Booker let it be read loud and clear again on Tuesday that he's not following in Shaq's size 22-footsteps to Reebok.

The Phoenix Suns superstar Booker, who’s signed with Nike, went even deeper in his latest reply to the second olive branch extended by Shaquille O'Neal since January. He clowned the Reebok basketball division president's signature basketball shoes on Booker's Instagram story.

However, Booker showed love to Reebok's other lifetime endorsee Allen Iverson for his classic "Question" kicks in the same caption.

"AI 'Question' was cool, but nobody wearing no damn SHAQs," Booker said with three laughing emojis.

Booker's caption was placed under a graphic from online sneaker media outlet Nice Kicks, which enclosed a quote by O'Neal from his and Iverson's Complex Sneaker Shopping episode interview released on Monday.

O'Neal was asked about his suggestion to Booker to join Reebok back in January.

"No, we wasn't recruiting. It was just everybody was bashing about his shoe, and it was like if you want a good shoe, holla at me and A.I.," O'Neal said. "I wasn't trying to be funny. Like I won't ... we don't do crazy things, but everybody was saying and he was saying he wasn't happy with his shoe. So you want to be happy, and you want a good shoe? Holla at Shaq and A.I."

What started all this was a Complex Sneakers panel discussion episode headlined "Is Nike Fumbling The D Book Launch," by the online media outlet's writers. They alleged that Booker wasn't being pleased with his Nike Book 1 signature shoe rollout, which began in September.

Booker engaged with commenters on that Complex post and said, "A lot of people feel the same way," but he was merely trolling them and not reflecting his views about the rollout.

Booker's misconstrued comment prompted O'Neal to reach out to him on social media. Then Booker whimsically responded, "When Complex creates a fake narrative about you and now Shaq is recruiting you to Reebok," Booker wrote.

He understandably doesn't need the help from The Diesel because of the sold-out success of the Nike Book 1 shoes initially released on Feb. 17. The shoes had a massive promotion by the brand during NBA All-Star Weekend.

Nike put out the Book 1 Mirage grey and cream colorway first, then the Mirage V2 Ashen Slate colorway last Thursday.
