Devin Booker (ankle) questionable, Bradley Beal (back) out for Suns rematch vs. Spurs

Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable for Thursday’s rematch against San Antonio to conclude a three-game homestand at Footprint Center.

Booker (left ankle sprain) hasn’t seen action since the season opener Phoenix won at Golden State. He injured his ankle late in the fourth quarter against the Warriors.

Bradley Beal (low back spasm) has been ruled out as he hasn’t played so far in the regular season for his new team. Beal has had back issues for weeks as he only played in two preseason games.

The Suns (2-2) are coming off a 115-114 loss Tuesday to the Spurs (2-2). Before the game, Frank Vogel said he didn’t know if Booker and Beal would be available for Thursday’s game.

“There's no real timetable on that right now," Vogel said. “They’re working very hard to get back as soon as possible. Both have begun to do some on-court work, but mostly light shooting.”

Without Booker and Beal, the Suns blew a 20-point lead. Spurs forward Keldon Johnson delivered the game winner with 1.2 seconds left after stealing the ball from Kevin Durant on a trap.

That was San Antonio’s first lead of the game.

Johnson scored a game-high 27 points while Durant led the Suns with 26.
