Game notes: It took a while but it seems the Tigers are finally playing their best ball of the season. With Thursday's victory, the Tigers have won six straight and their last three series.

Harold Castro is 4-for-6 vs. Ryan, but no other Tiger has more than two hits against him. Ryan has a quarter of his wins this season again the Tigers. In three starts, Ryan has allowed three runs and 11 hits over 18 innings while striking out 27 batters. Alexander has made a three-inning relief appearance and one start vs. the Twins. He allowed three hits and two runs over eight innings with five strikeouts.

The series continues with a 6:10 p.m. start Saturday.
