Game notes: The Tigers and Rockies will play two games after Friday's series opener was postponed due to rain. Miguel Cabrera picked up his 3,000th career hit in his first at-bat against fellow Venezuelan Sanzatela, then added another later in the game to claim No. 31 on the all-time hits list for himself.

The second game of the day will feature Brieske's first MLB action. He has two starts in the minors this season, allowing five runs in 10 innings. With nine strikeouts and three walks, it's clear Brieske has good stuff. But how will major-league hitters welcome him to the league? Gomber has yet to clear the fifth inning, giving up at least three runs in each of his first two starts. As a member of the St. Louis Cardinals bullpen, Gomber threw three scoreless innings vs. the Tigers in 2020 (in another doubleheader, oddly enough, albeit one of the seven-inning variety).

The Rockies and Tigers finish the series with a 1:10 p.m. start on Sunday.
