Game thread: Pistons lose to Spurs, 109-99

Detroit Pistons (10-28) vs. San Antonio Spurs (19-16)

When: 8 p.m. Monday.

Where: Little Caesars Arena.

TV: Fox Sports Detroit.

Radio: 97.1 FM (Pistons radio affiliates).

Box score

Game notes: The Pistons are 0-2 since the All-Star break, but have the rest advantage, after San Antonio was destroyed, 134-99, in Philadelphia on Sunday evening. The Spurs are seventh in the Western Conference despite being in the middle of a reboot full of young players, with LaMarcus Aldridge on the trade block and not with the team, and leading scorer DeMar DeRozan (20.3 PPG) out for personal reasons. Point guard Dejounte Murray averages 15.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.6 steals. ... Wayne Ellington (groin) and Dennis Smith Jr. remain out (COVID-19 protocols), and Hamidou Diallo is also not yet available.

THE REBUILD: Pistons' addition of Hamidou Diallo further establishes team's identity

GOOD DEAL: Pistons should consider these 3 deals at NBA trade deadline
