Detroit Lions elevate 2 from practice squad; Johnson, Glenn wrap up HC interviews
The Okwara brothers are back in business.
The Detroit Lions re-signed linebacker Julian Okwara to the practice squad Saturday, two days after they released him from their 53-man roster to clear room for James Houston's return from injured reserve.
Okwara appeared in nine games and had two sacks for the Lions in the regular season. His brother, Romeo, has two sacks since the start of December as the Lions' No. 3 edge rusher.
The Lions also elevated defensive tackle Tyson Alualu and fullback Jason Cabinda from the practice squad to the gameday roster.
LIONS VS. BUCS: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
Alualu was elevated twice from the practice squad in the regular season and again for last week's wild-card win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Players are allowed three practice squad elevations in the regular season before they must be promoted to the 53-man roster, but the clock resets in the playoffs.
