How Derrick White Became the Assistant TO the Boston Celtics starting lineup

When the Boston Celtics fell short of the 2022 NBA Championship by a mere two wins, many fans of the team were understandably unhappy, with a subset of them pointing to the trade for Derrick White with the San Antonio Spurs as a mistake given the Colorado native’s underwhelming performance in the Finals.

But after White had had a chance to get to know how his new team plays and to carve out his own role within it, the end result has been a considerably more effective style of play for the former Spurs guard and much better play for Boston as a whole.

Using a character from a popular TV comedy, the host of the “First to the Floor” Celtics Blog podcast makes it clearer how White has been helping the Celtics.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear the explanation.
