Derek Jeter lists N.Y. castle he bought for $425K in 2003 for nearly $15M
Derek Jeter’s business acumen has been under intense scrutiny since he took part ownership of the Miami Marlins.
His bonafides as a real estate investor should not be questioned, however. That is if he gets anywhere near the asking price for the New York State home he just listed.
Jeter just put up for sale a home known as the Tiedemann Castle that sits along New York’s Greenwood Lake, listed at $14.75 million. He reportedly bought the property in 2003 for $425,000.
It apparently needed some renovations at the time. But still. Good for Jeter.
Jeter’s grandfather reportedly lived there
The home was built in 1903 and was reportedly the childhood home of Jeter’s grandfather William “Sonny” Connors in the 50s.
The 12,500-square-foot property boasts 700 feet of shoreline, six bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, five kitchens, multiple gardens, a lagoon, a pool, a widow’s walk and a miniature Statue of Liberty, among other amenities, according to the listing.
It sits around 50 miles north of New York City.
