Deion Sanders challenges NCAA to take action after team robbed at the Rose Bowl

During Colorado’s 28-16 loss to UCLA on Saturday, a thief entered the Buffaloes’ locker room inside the Rose Bowl and stole jewelry from multiple players and coaches.

Obviously, something like that should never happen, especially at one of college football’s most historic venues. Colorado head coach Deion Sanders addressed the robbery during his weekly Tuesday press conference and challenged the NCAA to take action.

“Our kids got robbed during the game last week. That’s a travesty and I would expect the NCAA to do something about that,” Sanders said. “These are college kids. I’m pretty sure they don’t think about insurance at this point in this juncture in their life. We’ve talked about NILs (name, image and likeness) and how to really maintain their finances. We’ve pretty much given them financial planners and given them resources for that. But the insurance part of it, we slipped. We didn’t really educate them on that.

“I’m going to have a list made up for this young men and I know they’re going to be truthful about what they lost, so we can try to get that back for them. They may not be getting the items back, but we should be able to reimburse them.”

Coach Prime added that he heard UCLA’s locker room was robbed as well.

Fortunately, Colorado players have handled the situation with maturity. Here’s what edge rusher Jordan Domineck posted on X (formerly known as Twitter):

USA TODAY Sports reported that the Pasadena Police Department is investigating the robbery.
