David Bakhtiari starred at the Beer Olympics and he brought Packers rookie Tucker Kraft with him
David Bakhtiari is an elder statesman on the Green Bay Packers who appears ready to mentor the younger talent.
That could mean on the football field in 2023 but it also could mean one of his other talents — beer chugging.
With the Packers on a break until training camp begins later this month, the 31-year-old All-Pro left tackle participated in and, not surprisingly, did quite well in the "2023 Beer Olympics," a frat house-looking type of event hosted by Taylor Lewan, a former NFL player who co-hosts the "Bussin With the Boys" podcast via Barstool Sports.
The second annual event last week attracted several other NFL players, including Madison native and San Francisco 49ers superstar tight end George Kittle, award-winning singer/songwriter Jelly Roll, comedians and even former head of NFL officiating and current Fox Sports rules analyst Dean Blandino, who was there to officiate the games.
Bakhtiari wasn't the only Packer at the Nashville compound. He was joined by Tucker Kraft, the Packers' third-round draft pick out of South Dakota State.
How's that for a team bonding experience as a rookie?
It's not clear where the Packers duo finished in the overall event — a day that included beer chugging, beer pong and flip cup, among other beer-related competitions — but this is clear: they easily won the beer chugging event.
Bakhtiari, who is well-known for these kinds of abilities, led them to the victory. He downed his boot of beer in 8.59 seconds, easily beating out Kittle in a matchup of Packers vs. 49ers.
The 22-year-old Kraft wasn't far behind Kittle, though. DeForest Buckner, Kittle's former teammate on the field who now plays for the Indianapolis Colts, finished in fourth place.

It appears Bakhtiari and Kittle got themselves mixed up in some controversy as well later in the day that led to Kraft referencing that the competition took on a level of "politics" to determine a winner.
Blandino had to come in to settle the score.

In the end, despite losing early on in the day to the Packers duo, Kittle and Buckner ended up taking the title as darkness took over.

Nonetheless, the Packers' beer-chugging victory — particularly Bakhtiari's performance — drummed up a lot of social media reaction.
But don't overlook the performance by Kraft, who has already shown to be a fan favorite with his love for Culver's.
