After being released by the Mets on April 3Darin Ruf has found his new home... and it's a familiar one.

The San Francisco Giants are re-signing Ruf to a minor league deal, according to The Athletic's Jayson Stark.

New York acquired Ruf on Aug. 2, 2022 at the trade deadline in exchange for J.D. DavisThomas Szapucki, and RHP prospects Carson Seymour and Nick Zwack.

Ruf played in San Francisco from 2020 to 2022 before getting traded to New York, and put up solid numbers with 32 home runs, 28 doubles, and 99 RBI over 247 games. He then struggled once becoming a Met, slashing just .152/.216/.197 with zero home runs and three doubles over 29 games with New York.

The 36-year-old continued to disappoint in spring training, where he hit just .167 over 11 games with two doubles and one RBI.

The Mets then designated him for assignment on March 27.
