Dallas Cowboys vs. Las Vegas Raiders: What to know for final preseason game

The Dallas Cowboys close their three-week preseason with a home showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders Saturday night, the final tuneup before the Sept. 10 opener against the New York Giants.

Roster cuts come after the game so this will be it for a number of players on the rosters, while others will have a chance to grab a final spot.

Here is what you need to know.

When is the game?

Kickoff at AT&T Stadium is set for 6 p.m. Mountain time, Saturday, Aug. 26

Where is it on the TV?

The game will be televised locally on the NBC affiliate KTSM. This is a problem for people with DirecTV, as a dispute between them and KTSM means DirecTV viewers will have to hook up an antenna to get the feed over the air. Sports bars will be able to do this and will have the game.

Another option is to stream it on CBS Sports.

How to watch in person

Tickets on secondary markets start at $25.

What are their records?

Dallas has made it pretty clear it's fine with its 0-2 start to the preseason. The Raiders are 2-0 after drubbing San Francisco.

Who is going to be playing?

As was the case with the first two games, Dallas won't play its big names, so no Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons or Tony Pollard. For those who question the wisdom of this, do consider that in the preseason loss to Seattle, rookie linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, the third-round pick from Texas having an impactful preseason, was lost for the year to a knee injury. So was tight end John Stephens.

Those are big losses, though not as big as an injury to Prescott or Parsons would be.

Cooper Rush seems to have definitively won the job as backup and Will Greir will be the No. 3. They will get the snaps Saturday.

An area to watch is tailback, where Rico Dowdle, Malik Davis and Deuce Vaughn are vying to be a backup for Pollard, and quite possibly two of those will make the team. The rookie Vaughn has been electric in preseason while Dowdle has had the best camp.

On the plus side, Brandon Aubrey, the only kicker on the roster, made both of his extra points, the first time Dallas hasn't missed at least one extra point since the end of last year's regular season. Dallas appears set to go with the former college soccer play unless they choose to add a veteran next week.
