The 2022-23 All-Daily Record boys basketball team:
FIRST TEAM
Kodah Allen, Orrville, fr.
Only a handful of players in the state scored more points per game (28.4) than Allen, who was just a freshman during the 2022-23 season. His ability to beat the defender off the dribble and finish near the rim was well beyond his years. ... Div. III honorable mention All-Ohio

One of several four-year varsity players first-team list, Alberts added something different to his game every year of high school. Sammy Detweiler, Hiland, jr.
Detweiler's play was a huge reason Hiland managed to capture one of its most improbable state berths in program history. Already a gifted shooter, Detweiler showcased his all-around game as a junior, leading a dramatic in-season turnaround for the Hawks. ... Div. IV second-team All-Ohio

Div. III special mention All-Ohio

As a senior, Piatt cemented himself as one of the best players to come through Smithville's program, leading the Smithies to their first WCAL title share since 2009, along with a district final appearance. A truly complete player, Piatt was the centerpiece of Smithville's offense and relished taking on challenging defensive assignments. ... Div. III special mention All-Ohio

Winner. That's the word describe Rupp, who was part of four 20-win teams during his high school career, including three district titles and Norwayne's first WCAL title share since 2014 during the 2022-23 season. Rupp did whatever Norwayne needed on both sides of the ball, playing the five despite being a natural wing player, and finished his career as one of Norwayne's best all-around players ever. ... Div.
