Dabo Swinney shares high praise for WR Beaux Collins heading into the 2023 season

The Clemson football program heads into the 2023 college football season with lofty expectations, and to reach them, the Tigers’ offense to get back on track and perform at a high level.

For the offense to get back to previous form that Clemson saw with Tajh Boyd, Deshaun Watson, and Trevor Lawrence under center, starting quarterback Cade Klubnik will need to take the next step in his sophomore season. For this to happen, the Tigers receivers must also step up and give the talented quarterback options to throw to.

Sophomore Antonio Williams was a top freshman wide receiver in the country in 2022, but other than him, the Tigers’ options were limited due to the injuries junior wide receiver Beaux Collins dealt with. Head coach Dabo Swinney had nothing but great things to say about Collins when he spoke to the media at the start of fall camp.

“It’s gonna start with Beaux [Collins],” the Tigers head coach said. “I mean Beaux is a great player, there’s a reason why he could’ve gone wherever he wanted to go in the country.”

“He’s really, really developed. If he stays healthy, he’s going to have an amazing year. He’s a really, really good player and a great kid, a great leader. He’s super, super talented. He’s fast, strong, he’s polished, he really understands all the nuances of the position and he’s passionate about it,” Swinney said.

Collins has a tremendous ceiling, and we’ve seen flashes of excellence from the young wide receiver multiple times in his time with the Tigers. 2023 could be the season we see Collins breakout and become a key playmaker in the Clemson offense.
