'The D took the day off': Fans, experts react to Miami Dolphins vs. Detroit Lions shootout

The Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions have decided to let the defense sit this one out.

The Lions took a 27-17 lead into halftime of a game that has seen both offenses unleash an absurd aerial assault on each other.

Having Amon-Ra St. Brown and D'Andre Swift seems to have helped Jared Goff immensely. The beleaguered Lions quarterback threw for 264 yards and a touchdown in the first half, while Jamaal Williams ran in two more scores.

Meanwhile, Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has been hitting Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle all over the field, as well. Hill picked up more than 100 yards shortly into the second quarter and had 142 at halftime. Tagovailoa and Waddle had two TD connections. After the Dolphins opened the third quarter with yet another touchdown drive, Tagovailoa went over 300 yards for the game.
