D.K. Metcalf discusses how teams are defending him different this year

Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf isn’t taking anybody by surprise anymore, if he ever was. Metcalf’s freakish size and athleticism for his position has helped him become a star – and he’s been recognized as such by his peers, being voted No. 22 on this year’s NFL Top 100 list.

It’s been a relatively quiet start to the 2021 season for Metcalf, though. Through two games he’s “only” posted 10 catches, 113 yards and one touchdown. Compared to what we’re used to seeing from No. 14 that’s a little bit slow. Today, Metcalf talked about how opposing teams are defending him differently this year – mainly by talking more (NSFW) and trying to get into his head.

Metcalf admitted that he got a little bit carried away this past week against the Titans.

Looking ahead, Metcalf should have a chance to produce more against Minnesota. In two career meetings with the Vikings, he’s averaged 84 yards and a touchdown.
