SAVE! And suddenly, here come Sheffield United, buoyed on by that Ahmedhodzic strike. Brooks gets a shot off on the turn but Henderson does well to make the save down low to his right.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:47

OFF THE BAR! So close to an equaliser for the away side as Ahmedhodzic rattles the crossbar. Henderson was rooted to the spot the centre-back's effort just stayed out.

Into the final ten minutes we head, with Palace looking to hold onto their vital one-goal lead. There's a somewhat nervous tinge to the home crowd who realise how vital this win would be.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:40

Substitution Eberechi Oluchi Eze David Ikechukwu Ozoh

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:39

Well, now there is more concern for Palace as Eze goes down requiring treatment. He's certainly a player they can ill afford to lose at this stage of the season.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:39

Palace have just begun to sit back having gone a goal up which has allowed Sheffield United some valuable time on the ball. Osula tries to create room for the shot but his eventual effort is tame and trickles into the hands of Henderson.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:35

SAVE! Eze dances into the box as he eyes up a hat-trick but Foderingham is equal to it at the near post as Eze looks to squeeze it past the replacement keeper.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:34

It looks like Schlupp will go out on the left side of the front three, with Ayew moving across to replace Olise on the right.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:28

Eze whips in a fierce delivery from the left side but, once again, it is Vinicius who rises highest to bravely head away the danger.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:27

Palace are just began to click into gear in the final third in these last few minutes. Eze slides through Mateta down the left but the striker skews his effort over the bar from a tight angle.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:26

Substitution Oliver Robert McBurnie William Idamudia Daugaard Osula

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:24

CHANCE! Well, now Palace have a chance inside the box but Olise fluffs his lines! It's a lovely reverse pass from Lerma to play through the Frenchman who may well have been offside anyway. Regardless, Olise surges into the box but gets the finish all wrong, with Foderingham able to make an easy stop down to his left.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:23

Palace have struggled to find the same attacking threat after the break. The home side are yet to have a touch inside the opponent's penalty box in this second half as the clock ticks past the hour mark.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:21

Hughes is shown the first Palace yellow card of the game after a late challenge on McAtee.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:21

Olise does superbly to get past Norrington-Davies, delivering a teasing ball across the face of goal. No Palace player gambles on it, however, and it flies out for a throw-in.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:20

Sheffield United are enjoying a better spell of possession in this second half. Norrington-Davies gets down the left well but his low cross into the box is cleared away.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:18

Bogle's cross from the right finds McBurnie inside the box who cushions a header down nicely towards the six-yard box. It's a Palace player who responds quickest, though, as the threat is cleared away.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:15

It appears that the Croatian keeper will have to make way after suffering that blow to the head. He doesn't seem best pleased that his Premier League debut has come to a premature end.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:15

Substitution Ivo Grbić Wesley Andrew Foderingham

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:13

There's a slight pause in play as Grbic is down having collided with Mateta.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:11

It appears as if Brereton's substitution is due to a knock the forward picked up in the first half. The other change, meanwhile, looks to have changed Sheffield United's formation, with the away side now appearing to line up in a back five. Norrington-Davies will, therefore, be charged with man-marking Olise down that right side.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:09

Slimane also makes way, with Norrington-Davies replacing the midfielder.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:08

KICK-OFF! The home side get us back underway for this vital second half at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:07

Substitution Benjamin Anthony Brereton Díaz Andre Chance Brooks

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

21:00

Hodgson must be pleased with what he saw from his team for large parts of that first half. They were the dominant force for large swathes of the first half, with the away side scoring from two of their three total shots. Olise's minutes will surely have to be managed after a long spell out with injury but the Frenchman has been superb so far, with three shots, two assists and 48 touches - the second-most of any Palace player.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:55

A frenetic first half comes to a close at Selhurst Park, with the score level at 2-2. While Crystal Palace have had the better of the first half, it was the visitors who went ahead after just 22 seconds when Ben Brereton curled home from the edge of the box. Palace would level through Eberechi Eze's acrobatic finish but the Eagles were level for just three minutes before James McAtee's deflected striker saw Sheffield United back ahead. Michael Olise has been a constant threat on his return to the Palace lineup and the Frenchman had a hand in the second goal, teeing up Eze who finished superbly with a curling, left-footed effort from outside the box. It's been a right cracker in south east London - more after the break, please!

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:52

HALF-TIME: CRYSTAL PALACE 2-2 SHEFFIELD UNITED

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:50

Palace have their seventh corner of the game as they search for a late goal in this first half. Sheffield United's defence holds firm, though, with Olise's follow-up effort blocked as well.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:49

There will be four minutes of added time in this first half as Robinson makes a vital header to prevent Mateta from reaching Olise's cross. The corner is swung into the box, this time, but Vinicius rises well to clear away the ball.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:47

The free-kick drifts out for a corner which Palace again decide to take quickly. Eze finds Ayew on the edge of the area, who catches his effort cleanly, but it rises over the bar.

Up the other end, Palace take a corner quickly, with Eze getting to the byline well and clipping a tempting ball into the box. Andersen can't quite reach the cross, with Grbic eventually claiming the cross when it comes back in from the right.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:40

McBurnie wriggles free from Andersen on the left side of the box but his effort, from a tight angle, is caught easily by Henderson in the Palace goal.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:38

Palace may well feel aggrieved at the scoreline given the way they have played in this opening 34 minutes. The home side have already produced 0.81 expected goals (xG) compared to Sheffield United's meagre 0.18.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:34

CHANCE! Eze whips in a delightful ball to the back post where Olise is waiting. The Frenchman does excellently to nod the ball back across the six-yard box but nobody is on hand to turn it home as Sheffield United hack the ball clear.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:34

Olise is really enjoying himself out there on the pitch. A lovely piece of trickery wins a free-kick out on the right after a foul from McAtee.

Olise is back on the ball again but his lofted through ball is overhit and flies over the head of Ayew and out for a goal-kick.

20:29

Sheffield United have won just one of their last six away league games against Crystal Palace (D1 L4), winning 1-0 in the Premier League in February 2020.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

Palace go back on the attack straight away, but Ayew's half-volley from the edge of the box is always rising as it flies into the stands.

Olise stands up a ball into the box after getting the better of Trusty and Slimane. Mateta throws himself at the ball but, again, Grbic does well to push the cross away before the Blades defence can clear it fully.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:18

Palace win a free-kick centrally and Eze immediately grabs the ball. It's too far out for a touch so Eze takes it quickly, feeding Ayew. He slips in Lerma but the Colombian slips at the vital moment as he looks to cross the ball in.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:14

Olise and Ayew - back in the starting lineup - are looking lively. The former's clipped cross finds the Ghanaian at the back stick but his header into the box - looking for Mateta - is caught by Grbic.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:11

Olise swings in the resulting corner but Grbic comes through the crowd well to claim the ball.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:11

It's been all Palace since the goal as Mitchell, this time, swings the ball in from the left. Trusty heads out for a corner.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:07

Olise gets on the ball for the first time in the game after Vinicius is dispossessed by Ayew. However, again it is Trusty who gets in to make the vital block.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

20:07

Palace look for an immediate response as Mateta bursts down the left channel but Trusty is well-placed to clear away the cross.

KICK OFF! Sheffield United get us underway in the first half!

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

19:54

Crystal Palace have won their last three Premier League games against Sheffield United, keeping a clean sheet each time. They last won four consecutive league games against the Blades between 1987 and 1991.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

19:54

Chris Wilder, meanwhile, makes five changes from Sheffield United's 5-2 defeat against Brighton in the FA Cup, while there also appears to be a change in formation, with the Blades moving to just one up top. In defence, Robinson replaces Norrinton-Davies, while Vinicius and Slimane are preferred to Norwood and Osborn in central midfield. Archer and Osula started up front in the FA Cup but the pair both drop to the bench for this fixture, with McBurnie and McAtee coming in from the start.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

19:49

Roy Hodgson makes two changes to his Crystal Palace side that lost 5-0 against Arsenal. Ayew returns from the Africa Cup of Nations and Olise is back from injury, with both returning to the starting lineup. Clyne and Schlupp, therefore, drop to the bench.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

19:39

Sheffield United, meanwhile, were in action in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend but suffered yet another defeat in the form of a 5-2 loss against Brighton. New manager Chris Wilder may have picked up a win in his second game in charge but the Blades have won just one in their last seven since then in all competitions. Last time out in the Premier League, they picked up a vital point at home against West Ham thanks to a last-minute penalty and the visitors will surely be eyeing up a vital away win today which would see them move off the bottom of the table, with Burnley not playing until Wednesday.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

19:39

A lack of FA Cup action over the weekend will have given Roy Hodgson and his team some much-needed time for contemplation as they look to arrest their slide towards a relegation battle. The Eagles have just one win in their last 12 matches in all competitions, with their last Premier League fixture ending in a thumping 5-0 defeat against Arsenal. They currently sit just five points above the bottom three and will see tonight as a must-win game against the team rooted to the bottom of the table.
