This London derby seemed destined for a point apiece as the game wore on, only for Gallagher to double his account and make it 2-1 with a 92nd-minute finish from Palmer’s cutback pass. Palmer would add his second assist just minutes later, breaking away on the counter-attack before rolling through for Fernandez to coolly beat Henderson. It is a cruel blow for Hodgson’s side, who are 15th and just five points clear of 18th-placed Everton – who Palace face on Monday.
