Cris Collinsworth makes his MVP case for Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is no stranger to leaving you speechless with his play on the field, and that was on full display in the team’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football in Week 15.

Jackson’s play this season has landed him with the second-best odds to win MVP with three games remaining in the regular season, only behind San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

During the game against the Jaguars, NBC’s Cris Collinsworth made a strong case for Jackson to win his second MVP.

“Alright Lamar let me play your agent here,” Collinsworth said. “You’re gonna be the MVP, this is gonna be my case … despite the fact that there has been good pressure all around him all night long, they could not in the key moments get him on the ground.”

One play in particular that had Collinsworth gushing was a pass to tight end Isaiah Likely in double coverage in which Jackson somehow escaped a sack at the start of the play before delivering a perfect pass deep down the field to the second-year tight end.

“I just don’t know how you quantify what we’ve seen out here tonight,” Collinsworth said. “They just couldn’t find a way to get him down in the biggest moments.”

Jackson has a prime opportunity to strengthen his MVP case to a national audience on Christmas Day against the 49ers.
