Creston Council names new water board member
May 4—Creston City Council approved David Wynn Tuesday to the Creston Waterworks board to replace Michele Thatcher.
Creston Waterworks General Manager Steve Guthrie said Thatcher has not yet submitted her resignation to the water board, which is scheduled to meet next week. Thatcher's retirement from the Creston school district effective the end of the school year was was approved in March by the school board.
Thatcher started her four-year term in January after being appointed by Creston City Council with the recommendation from Mayor Gabe Carroll. Wynn's term will expire Dec. 31, 2028.
Creston City Council receives applications and nominations for water board members which are then suggested by the mayor.
