Here comes the sun: April's last MetroWest and Milford Fantastic Five high school athletes

Goodbye, April showers. These Fantastic Five MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletes ended the month with a deluge of scoring.

They reached milestones and delivered victories for their teams.

Without further ado, Monday, April 30th's Fantastic Five high school athletes:

JOEY BURKE, Wayland boys volleyball

He distributed 42 assists in a 3-2 win over Lexington. Finn Bell put down 22 kills with seven aces and seven digs for Wayland (7-3), who won 21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 15-12. Warriors libero Liam Frenzel pulled up 20 digs. Wayland's Joe Kelly added 11 kills with three blocks and two aces, while Dylan Engelhardt contributed seven kills, five aces and two blocks.

KADEN CHEN, Westborough boys tennis

The Rangers' top singles player helped Westborough stay undefeated with a 3-2 win over Wellesley. He beat Arthas Goutham 6-3, 6-0. Srinjoy Ghosh prevailed 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, while Jordan Hlawek bested Ellias Lukic 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles for Westborough (5-0). Wellesley (5-4) swept the doubles points. Stefan Herning and Marc Dalzell defeated Brendan Estaphan and Michael Ku 7-5, 6-3, while Anreas Monsen and Corey Ladge won 6-4, 6-2 over Eehab Khan and tyler Lattanzio.

GRACE CHIOTA, Algonquin girls lacrosse

She collected five points on three assists and two goals, including the 100th of her career, in an 11-9 win over Leominster. Bella Roman fired in five goals for the Titans (6-3, 3-2 Mid-Wach A) with an assist, while Bryn Domolky contributed a hat trick and an assist.

ELLA HOBIN, Marlborough girls lacrosse

She scored seven goals in a 12-6 win over Hudson. Hobin also added six draw controls for the Panthers (2-7, 2-3 Mid-Wach C). Marlborough's Kyra Duane contributed two goals. Katie Peruse netted four goals for the Hawks (2-6, 2-4)n and Layne Thomason scored twice.

FALLON LOZANO, Nipmuc girls lacrosse

She registered the 300th point of her career in a 15-9 win over Notre Dame (Worcester). Liz Lange led Nipmuc (7-2, 6-0 Mid-Mass.) with six goals, while Paige Anderson scored three.

BEN YOSCA, Algonquin boys lacrosse

He pumped in four goals in a 12-3 win over Leominster, including the 100th of his career for the Titans (6-3). Algonquins's Luke Nofsinger added a hat trick.

Softball

BELLINGHAM 14, Tri-County 11: Ashley Kamin doubled twice among her three hits and drove in four runs for the Blackhawks (3-7). Mackenzie Duffy was 4-for-5 with a two-run homer for the Cougars. Tri County's Ava Cossette added four hits, while Breann MacMillan added 3. Kaleigh Stenstrom was 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly for Tri-County (6-2).

MAYNARD 7, Assabet 2: Emily Brennion had two hits for Assabet (1-5).

Boys lacrosse

BLACKSTONE VALLEY 18, Assabet 2: Nicholas Valoras produced seven points with a hat trick and four assists for the Beavers (8-1, 3-1 Colonial).

WELLESLEY 11, Weymouth 5: Tyler Desmond scored three times for the Raiders (6-4).

Girls lacrosse

ASHLAND 18, Norton 8: Anna Magennis amassed 10 points with five goals and five assists for the Clockers (9-2, 7-2 Tri-Valley League). Ashland's Lili Vitti contributed four goals and two assists, Paige trip had three assists and a goal, while Julia Schreiber and Morgan Dubanowitz added three goals and an assist each. Maggie Magennis (assist) and Ashley Forster each found the net once for the Clockers.

Boys volleyball

NATICK 3, Wellesley 0: Nick Bonavire put down 11 kills for the Redhawks (8-1).

Boys tennis

DOVER-SHERBORN 4, Westwood 1: Max Glick and Dalai Xu won their singles matches, while the Raiders (8-0) doubles pairs of Harrison DePaola and Yair Elman and Peyton Cypes and Sam Greene swept their slots.

Girls track & field

FRANKLIN 115, Milford 21: Sarah Dumas placed first in the 800, high jump and long jump for the Panthers (4-0, 4-0 Hockomock). Franklin's Ella Chandaria (400m hurdles, 100 hurdles) and Lily DeForge (shot put, discus) won two events each.

HOPKINTON 74, Holliston 62: Alice Brambati finished first in the long jump and 100 hurdles for the Hillers in addition to taking silver in the triple jump. Hopkinton's Kiley Locke was first in the 400 hurdles, second in the 100 hurdles and third in the high jump. Emma Prisco ran a new personal best in winning the 400 and was third in the 100, while Elena Davies placed first in the javelin and Evie Woodbury took first in the high jump.

Girls golf

AYER-SHIRLEY 18-5, Westborough 7.5: Warriors junior Ashley Huang was the medalist at Westborough Country Club with a 33.
