Columbus Clippers lose after giving up 7 runs with 2 out against Louisville Bats

Sunday's game: Louisville at Columbus (late)

Saturday's game: Louisville 10, Columbus 9

Recap: Louisville's eight-run fifth inning was a big part of the reason that the Bats beat the Clippers for a fifth straight game. What made the inning especially remarkable was that seven of those runs came with two out. Columbus' Daniel Norris (2-4) absorbed the loss, giving up seven hits and 5 earned runs in 4 2/3 innings of work. Zack Collins hit his team-leading 13th home run for the Clippers. He and Oscar Gonzalez each recorded 3 RBIs. Meanwhile, Reds first baseman Joey Votto, continuing his rehab assignment with Louisville, singled, drew a walk and scored on a 1-for-3 night.
