Colts players mourn the loss of Pat McAfee
In a surprise turn of events, Indianapolis Colts All-Pro punter retired early this morning. At just 29, Mr. Boomstick was at the peak of his game. Clear-cut the best punter in the entire league. But here in Indianapolis, he was a great person first, NFL player second.
McAfee was a weekly host on the radio with Bob and Tom, and appeared on the NFL Network frequently. Hell, he even had his own stand-up comedy show that was an instant success. The comedy laughs will continue as he pursues his post-playing days as the COO for Barstool Sports here in Indianapolis.
But, Colts players were hit hard with the news of him stepping away from the game. Granted, he had hinted at retirement a few weeks before the season ended. But at 29, no one really took him seriously. McAfee left $4 million on the table and probably another $25 plus million if he would have continued his career for another 10 years.

McAfee was the life of the lockerroom. Always good for a great quote and a quick laugh. Colts players have been reaching out all day on Twitter to mourn the loss of one of their best friends and teammates.

That video just shows the swag that Pat carried around. You have to respect that Conor McGregor strut there.
I LOVE YOU PAT ????

The special bond of snapping balls to a guy is something that none of us will ever understand.

From one Pro Bowl player to the next. McAfee was loved in the lockerroom.
I could go on and on about how much he will be missed. But the fact of the matter is this. There will never be another Pat in the NFL. Colts players, fans and media members will always remember the good times they had around him. Good luck in your future Pat, even though you will not need it.
