Colts’ Matt Eberflus a finalist for Bears HC search

Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus will have a second head coach interview with the Chicago Bears next week, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

In getting another interview with Bears ownership, Eberflus is now a finalist as a head coach for two teams. Eberflus is set to have another interview with the Jacksonville Jaguars as well.

Eberflus was expected to be a hot commodity when it came to head coach candidacies. He’s had interviews in the past but this appears to be the first time he’s been a finalist for more than one team.

Eberflus had his first interview with the Bears on Monday along with assistant general manager Ed Dodds, who has since withdrawn his name from that part of the search.

As Eberflus becomes a popular candidate, the likelihood of the Colts needing to replace him is growing by the week.
