Colorado turns record-setting profits from spring football game
The Colorado Buffaloes held their first spring game under head coach Deion Sanders last month in front of a sold-out Folsom Field with ESPN on the broadcast, signaling that a new era in Boulder has indeed arrived.
Now, the numbers are in from that spring game, and it was certainly fruitful for the athletic department.
According to BuffZone’s Brian Howell, Colorado sold roughly $343,000 worth of ticket sales to go along with $143,000 in concessions. All told, CU made about $200,000 in profit after expenses were taken into account. Colorado also made roughly $123,000 in revenue from the team store, which is the program’s largest “game day” revenue on record, Howell reported.
Fans can expect more of the same come this fall, as all season tickets for this upcoming year have already been sold and single-game tickets are going quickly as well.
