Colorado lands transfer forward Aaronette Vonleh from Arizona

The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team has made its first transfer portal addition of the offseason in the form of Aaronette Vonleh, a forward from the University of Arizona.

Vonleh, a freshman last season, suited up 17 times for the Wildcats and averaged 4.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-3 forward scored 17 points for her best effort of the year during an 82-55 victory over Northern Arizona. She scored at least 10 points in four games last season.

Hailing from West Linn, Oregon, Vonleh was named the Oregon Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year as a senior in high school, averaging 28.6 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in 2020-21.

Buffs head coach JR Payne shared her excitement about Vonleh, praising her strong frontcourt presence (h/t CUBuffs.com).

“She is someone who comes to CU with both collegiate experience, as well as a strong desire to grow into the player that she is capable of being. Aaronette brings a low post presence with a great combination of size and skill that we need in the frontcourt. I believe she is capable of being an excellent player in the Pac-12 for the years to come.”

Following the departure of fifth-year senior Mya Hollingshed to the WNBA, as well as senior Peanut Tuitele, who transferring to Cal, the Buffs will likely be active in seeking more additions from the transfer portal this offseason.
