‘College GameDay’ makes predictions for UNC’s tournament hopes

The UNC basketball program is hours away from hosting Duke in a rematch of the best rivalry in sports. When these two teams meet it’s always a big game as we’ve seen in years past.

But this year, it’s even bigger for North Carolina.

The Tar Heels enter this game on the wrong side of the bubble as team No. 70 in Joe Lunardi’s updated bracketology. They need to get as many wins as possible before Selection Sunday a week away. And Saturday provides another big opportunity for that.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, “College GameDay” was in Chapel Hill and one of the segments was the analysts making their prediction for bubble teams, including UNC. The trio of Seth Greenberg, Jay Bilas and LaPhonso Ellis revealed whether UNC would be in or out come Selection Sunday.

The trio all agreed:

Seth Greenberg: IN

LaPhonso Ellis:  IN

Jay Bilas: IN

Obviously, Saturday’s game is huge for the Tar Heels tournament chances as they have the opportunity to get another Quad 1 win, something they desperately need.

A loss would doom their hopes and probably force them to make a run to the ACC Tournament final, at minimum, to be considered.
