Clippers battle Mudhens in the rain to win for fifth time in last six games
Sunday's game: Columbus 7, Toledo 1 (6 innings)
Recap: An abbreviated game started a little rough for Columbus' Joey Cantillo (2-1), who walked the first two batters he faced before giving up an RBI single to Nick Maton, but he buckled down after that and pitched five innings to help the Clippers win for the fifth time in six games. Cantillo would give up only two more hits and he struck out seven on the day. Offensively, it was third baseman Daniel Schneemann who got things started for the Clippers with a first-inning home run. Raynel Delgado and Brayan Rocchio followed with RBI singles in the second before Zack Collins capped the scoring with his fifth-inning homer. The game would be called in the sixth inning due to rain.
Of note: Collins' home run was his 14th this year, tying him with Jhonkensy Noel for the team lead. Columbus is 4-1 since the International League began the second half of the season.
