Cleveland Browns white helmets debuting vs. Steelers on "MNF" a nod to team's past

The Browns will have a different look on "Monday Night Football" against the Steelers.

For the firs time since 1951, the Browns will wear a helmet that is a color other than orange. Cleveland will wear white helmets when the team plays the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The helmets are part of the team's "White Out" series and will also be worn in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers and in Week 17 against the New York Jets.

The white helmets are a call back to what the team wore from 1946 until 1951. Back then the helmets the Browns wore were all white. The new ones also feature an orange stripe down the middle between two brown stripes.

In addition to the helmets, the Browns "White Out" series uniforms will include a white jersey with brown and orange numerals with matching stripes on the sleeves and white pants with vertical striping in the same brown-orange-brown pattern.

The team introduced the look in July.
