Clemson takes down Wake Forest in a double OT thriller

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers pulled off a huge double-overtime win as No.5 Clemson took down No.21 Wake Forest 51-45 in a wild game.

Starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had arguably his best performance in a Clemson uniform, having the Tigers’ offense moving when the team needed it most. The junior quarterback completed 26-41 passes for 371 yards and five touchdowns, finding Davis Allen on a 21-yard touchdown pass to win the game.

Will Shipley was the workhorse on the ground for Clemson taking 20 carries for 104 yards and a crucial one-yard touchdown. For the first time all season, the Tigers’ receivers and tight ends showed up in a big way. Whether it was Beaux Collins, Antonio Williams or Davis Allen, Uiagalelei’s targets showed up in when he needed it the most.

One of the day’s best performers was kicker BT Potter, who nailed a 52-yard field goal to tie things up and allow Clemson to pull away with the win in double overtime.

The defense wasn’t great as the secondary repeatedly got exposed in one-on-one matchups, but the unit showed up when it mattered most. Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee made some huge plays on the defensive line to lock up a Clemson win.

It may not have been pretty, but this was a massive win for this Clemson team.
