Chris Roller homers as Columbus Clippers top Iowa Cubs 5-3
Saturday's game: Columbus 5, Iowa, 3
Recap: Chris Roller homered and Daniel Schneemann went 2 for 4 as the Clippers won at Iowa. The Cubs scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth and had two runners on when pinch-hitter Nick Madrigal grounded into a fielder's choice to end the game. Clippers starter Touki Toussaint allowed one run on two hits in 3⅔ innings. Thomas Ponticelli (2-3) and Jhon Romero pitched 3⅓ shutout innings. Tim Herrin allowed two runs in two innings. Oscar Gonzalez tripled for the Clippers.
