Chiefs Suffer 22-17 Defeat Against 49ers
The Chiefs lost to the 49ers, 22-17, in Santa Clara.
Alex Smith found pay dirt two times on 17 of 31 passing for 175 yards and one pick. Colin Kaepernick finished 14 for 26 with 201 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions for the 49ers.
Jamaal Charles was a key factor for the Chiefs, rushing for 80 yards on 15 carries. Travis Kelce caught two passes for 15 yards with a touchdown.
The Kansas City defense surrendered 171 yards rushing and 201 passing. They sacked Kaepernick three times.
49ers running back Frank Gore had a big game, putting up 107 yards rushing.
The Chiefs travel to San Diego next week to meet the Chargers (3-1) while the 49ers visit St. Louis to take on the Rams (1-3).
