Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce to play in American Century Championship again

For the third consecutive year, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce will participate in the American Century Championship at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada.

Mahomes and Kelce will both be back at the 33rd edition of the golf tournament dubbed the “Super Bowl of celebrity golf.” They’ll play alongside an all-star cast of 80 celebrities ranging from Hall of Famers to award-winning musicians and actors. You can find a full list of participants here.

Last year, Mahomes tied for 50th place and Kelce placed 66th. The duo didn’t improve their standings at all from the first year they participated, but they were the life of the part on the golf course.

All participants in the American Century Championship will use modified Stableford rules in the 54-hole tournament. Points are awarded as follows: 10 points for a double eagle, 8 points for a hole in one, 3 points for a birdie, 1 point for par,  no points for bogey, and minus 2 for double bogey.

Players will tee off in the actual game beginning July 8, but practice rounds will be played on July 6 and July 7. The first day of the American Century Championship will be televised Friday, July 8 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. On Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 the game will be broadcast from 2:30-6:00 p.m. ET on NBC Sports.

Be sure to tune in and show Mahomes and Kelce some support.
