Chet Holmgren, Victor Wembanyama headline NBA All-Star Rising Stars player rosters

The 2024 NBA All-Star weekend kicks off in Indianapolis on Feb. 16 and culminates in the All-Star game on Sunday, Feb. 18. One of the first events of the weekend is the 2024 Panini Rising Stars, a showcase of rookie, sophomore, and G League players on Friday night.

Twenty-eight players in total will participate in the games. The 21 NBA rookies and sophomores were selected by NBA assistant coaches and the G League players were selected by the league office.

2024 Panini Rising Stars format

The 21 rookie and sophomore NBA players will be drafted onto three seven-player teams. Those three teams will be coached by Hall of Fame player Pau Gasol, 10-time WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings, and longtime Indiana Pacers forward and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose. The G League team will be coached by former Indiana Pacers forward Detlef Schrempf.

Gasol, Catchings, and Rose will select their teams in the Rising Stars Draft on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

The four teams will be split between two semifinal games. The winning teams from both games will compete in the championship round. Semifinal matchups have not yet been announced.
