Check out Tulare County's top high school spring sports performers for Week 10

The Times-Delta/Advance-Register will recognize Tulare County's top high school sports performers on a weekly basis this school year.

Coaches, please submit your results/top performers after each game, match or meet to sports reporter Vongni Yang at vyang2@gannett.com to have players highlighted.

This story will be updated throughout the week with that information.

April 11

Baseball

  • Will Masterson, Tulare Western: Masterson got the win on the mound, throwing eight strikeouts in six innings as the Mustangs edged Mission Oak 4-2.

  • Trey Garrison, Tulare Western: Garrison had the game-winning RBI hit. He also drew a walk.

  • Blake Crawford, Tulare Western: Crawford had hit, walk and stolen base.

  • Ezra Beavers, Tulare Western: Beavers picked up the save. He threw a strikeout in one inning.

Softball

  • Tristan Perez, Golden West: Perez had a hit and two RBIs as the Trailblazers topped Mt. Whitney 6-1.

  • Hayden Oliveira, Golden West: Oliveira hit a pair of doubles with two RBIs and a run.

  • Kirsten Williams, Golden West: Williams had two hits and a run.

  • Erin Fawkes, Golden West: Fawkes recorded the save with three strikeouts. She did not give up a hit in 1 1/3 innings.

  • Khianna Hardwick, Golden West: The winning pitcher rifled six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings while allowing three hits and an earned run.

  • Selena Lopez, Mt. Whitney: Lopez threw a complete game with nine strikeouts.

April 10

Baseball

  • Nate Ramirez, Redwood: Ramirez was the winning pitcher in a 4-3 victory over Golden West. He tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

  • Erik Rico, Redwood: The starting pitcher hurled six strikeouts in 6 1/3 frames. He gave up an earned run. He also had a hit and RBI as a hitter.

  • Wyatt McElree, Redwood: McElree hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to help the Rangers win its sixth straight EYL game this season.

  • Vincent Barba, Redwood: Barba went 2-for-3 hitting with a run, RBI, and two doubles. He also drew a walk.

  • Hunter Kittinger, Redwood: Kittinger had a hit, run, RBI and stolen base.

  • Isaac Esquivel, Redwood: Esquivel finished with a hit and walk.

  • Scotty Weber, Redwood: Weber added a hit, a run and two walks.

  • Jaxon Griffiths, Redwood: Griffiths had a hit and walk.

  • Alfredo Enriquez, Golden West: Enriquez hit two doubles and scored a run.

  • Marcus Garcia, Golden West: Garcia hit a double and had a RBI.

  • Chris Garcia, Golden West: Garcia added a single and RBI. He also stole a base.

  • David Rodriguez, Golden West: Rodriguez drove in a run and had a single. As a pitcher, he hurled three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

  • Luke Balderama, Strathmore: Balderama fired 11 strikeouts in five innings to lead the Spartans to a 15-4 win over Strathmore.

Track and field

  • Levi Jimenez, Mission Oak: Jimenez set a new school record in the high jump, clearing 6 feet and 8 inches at the West Yosemite League tri-meet.

April 9

Baseball

  • Zach Simmon, Central Valley Christian: Simmon threw three strikeouts in four innings to help the Cavaliers beat Kerman 3-2 in 10 innings. He did not allow a hit or earned run.

  • Jared Griffith, CVC: Griffith was the winning pitcher, tossing two strikeouts in six innings. He gave up three hits and an earned run.

  • Caden Ritchie, CVC: Ritchie hit a double and drove in a run with a RBI.

  • Kelan Turner, CVC: Turner had a double and RBI.

  • Teague Brandenburg, CVC: Brandenburg had a hit, two runs and a stolen base.

Boys tennis

  • Jacob Yang, Redwood: Yang delivered a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles in an 8-1 victory over Monache.

  • Dominic Nguyen, Redwood: Nguyen had a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.

  • Tanner Richardson, Redwood: Richardson was victorious at No. 3 singles, winning 6-3, 6-2.

  • Tyler Sapasap, Redwood: Sapasap turned in a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles.

  • Yong Lee, Redwood: Lee won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.

Softball

  • Jaydin Sabol, Monache: Sabol hit a solo home run and finished with two hits, two runs and a RBI in a 3-2 win over Golden West.

  • Danika Sanchez, Monache: Sanchez was the winning pitcher after throwing nine strikeouts in a complete game. She surrendered four hits, two earned runs and two walks.

  • Erin Fawkes, Golden West: Fawkes hurled three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision. She gave up an earned run on four hits.

April 8

Baseball

  • Justin Cuellar, Tulare Western: Cuellar hurled eight strikeouts as the winning pitcher in a 15-6 rout of Mission Oak. He also went 3-for-4 hitting with a triple, RBI and walk.

  • Chi'el Sanchez, Tulare Western: Sanchez had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs with two walks and a run.

  • William Masterson, Tulare Western: Masterson generated four hits, including a double, scored four runs and also knocked in another.

  • Luke Rice, Tulare Western: Rice registered the save with two strikeouts in three innings. He gave up four hits and also had a hit, two runs, a RBI and a walk at the plate.

  • Jace Cuellar, Tulare Western: Cuellar had two hits and a RBI.

  • Ezra Beavers, Tulare Western: Beavers added three runs, a pair of walks and two RBIs.

Boys tennis

  • Jacob Yang, Redwood: Yang helped the Rangers shut out Porterville 9-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
