Chad Mendes Draws Hacran Dias at UFC on FX 6 in Australia

UFC featherweight contender Chad Mendes is gunning for an eventual rematch with champion Jose Aldo, but for his next fight Mendes will take on his teammate instead.

Mendes is set to face Aldo's training partner and fellow Nova Uniao fighter Hacran Dias at UFC on FX 6 slated for Australia on Dec. 14. Sources close to the fight confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com following an initial report from SporTV in Brazil.

Following his loss to Aldo earlier this year, Mendes returned in emphatic fashion, dispatching of former Ultimate Fighter competitor Cody McKenzie at UFC 148.

Now the Team Alpha Male fighter looks to make it two in a row when he faces 21-1 fighter Hacran Dias, who is making his second appearance inside the Octagon.

In his debut fight, Dias defeated Iuri Alcantara by unanimous decision in his native Brazil at UFC 147. Now the Brazilian takes a major step up in competition facing former title contender Chad Mendes in Australia.
