Celtics president Brad Stevens shares Jaylen Brown won’t need surgery for facial fracture
The Boston Celtics got a little good news on Friday afternoon in that star wing Jaylen Brown will not need surgery on the fracture to his face the Georgia native was the recipient of in Wednesday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Per NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens shared with the media that Brown will avoid going under the knife and will be fitted with a mask to return to the court at an unspecified future date. “It doesn’t look like it’s going to be too long (before Brown returns to the court), so that’s a good thing,” said Stevens.
Early reports speculated that the Cal-Berkeley alum might be out through the All-Star break, but the lack of an injury replacement being named for Brown suggests that he plans to play in the annual exhibition contest.

In turn, that hints the Celtics star could be back on the hardwood for Boston as well before that, but at present no further details about a potential return have been released.
