Carolina Pro-Am at Wrightsville Beach: From location to parking, here's what to know
Stand-up paddleboarding, or SUP, continues to gain popularity. And one of the Wilmington area's biggest SUP events keeps growing with it.
Presented by Infinity Sup, the Carolina Pro-Am will celebrate its 10th anniversary from April 19-21 at Wrightsville Beach.
Here's what to know.
What's happening?
In its 10th year, the Carolina Pro-Am having been bringing together the top amateurs and the world’s best SUP surfers to North Carolina. Spectators can enjoy three days of watching watersports, which will combine stand-up paddleboarding and surfing. This friendly, world-class competition draws some of the best professional standup surfers to the beach. Cash prizes will also be awarded.

Where/time
The SUP surfing event will be held Friday, April 19 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Saturday, April 20 from 8:20 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; and Sunday, April 21 from 8:20 a.m.-1:40 p.m. at Crystal Pier Beach Access 38-40, South of Crystal Pier in Wrightsville Beach (703 S. Lumina Ave.). Awards will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Juniors and first comp divisions will compete on Sunday. The final calls with the starting times will be made by 9 p.m. the night before each day of competition. Times and divisions will be tentative based on conditions, so check Carolina Pro/Am and Instagram for schedule updates each day.
Parking
Paid parking will be in effect for the event. People can park along the neighbors' streets and there is also a large public parking lot across from the Oceanic. The Pivot Parking Office is located at 321 Causeway Drive adjacent to Town Hall.
Price
The three-day event is free for spectators.
