Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins: 'Who said I wanted to leave?'

DeAndre Hopkins is an Arizona Cardinals wide receiver, and he doesn’t appear to be leaving the organization anytime soon.

Hopkins reaffirmed his commitment to the organization on social media Monday amid trade rumors.

“I see everybody telling me to stay. Who said I want to go? Who said I wanted to leave? I’m out here working, baby,” Hopkins said via an Instagram Story posted on his account with a Phoenix location tag.

Hopkins' Instagram video comes on the heels of Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort's statement that he doesn’t “foresee” Hopkins leaving the desert.

"DeAndre is a Cardinal," Ossenfort said on Thursday at the NFL draft. "DeAndre is a Cardinal and we're moving forward."

If DeAndre Hopkins stays in Arizona

The veteran wide receiver has been the subject of trade rumors this offseason as the Cardinals eye a rebuild. He has two years remaining on his current contract with a cap hit of $29.9 million in 2023 and $25.5 million in 2024, according to overthecap.com.

Hopkins is the Cardinals’ undisputed No. 1 wide receiver, but he’s only played in 19 regular-season games the past two years due to injuries and a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.

When Hopkins is on the field, he is still a premier NFL wideout. He produced 64 catches, a team-high 717 receiving yards and three touchdowns in just nine games in 2022. He has 221 catches, 2,696 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns since the Cardinals acquired him in a trade with the Houston Texans in March 2020.

Hopkins will turn 31 on June 6. He has 853 receptions, 11,298 yards and 71 touchdown catches in 145 career regular-season games.
