Canaan Smith-Njigba's homer off James Karinchak lifts Indianapolis past Columbus Clippers

Recap: Canaan Smith-Njigba's two-run home run off James Karinchak in the eighth inning proved to be the difference as the Clippers lost for the third straight day and for the 15th time in 17 games. It was the eighth homer of the year for Smith-Njigba, the brother of former Ohio State football star Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Jhonkensy Noel homered for the Clippers in the ninth inning. Raynel Delgado had two of Columbus' five hits. Clippers starter Joey Cantillo pitched 5⅔ shutout innings, allowing three hits.
