Calvin Johnson scores twice in vintage opening-week performance

Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson had another monster performance, scoring twice during Monday's season opener at home against the Giants in Week 1.

Johnson made it look easy against New York's secondary. Matthew Stafford somehow found Johnson absolutely wide open for a 67-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the game. He then made a leaping grab for a 16-yard touchdown on the following drive. Johnson caught seven of the 11 passes thrown his way for 164 yards and a touchdown, averaging 23.4 yards per grab in a 35-14 victory.

Since the start of the 2010 season, Johnson has an NFL-best 21 touchdown receptions on passes thrown 15-plus yards downfield. He has also cracked the 100-yard mark in 22 of his past 34 games. Johnson surpassed the 150-yard mark for the 13th time in his career.

He'll look to build on his opening week performance come Week 2 at Carolina.
