Our Call: Erie Times-News game predictions for PIAA high school football quarterfinals

Five District 10 teams enter the PIAA playoffs this weekend three wins away from claiming state titles.

How far will they get in that pursuit? They'll each have to get past the first test Friday in the quarterfinals.

Our Call is coming off a tough 2-3 playoff weekend and looks to beef up its playoff mark this week.

Class 1A quarterfinals

• Redbank Valley 28, Cambridge Springs 21: Great season by the Blue Devils comes to an end.

Class 2A quarterfinals

• Farrell 32, Westinghouse 26: The Steelers earn some payback on the way to the semifinals.

Class 3A quarterfinals

• Martinsburg Central 28, Hickory 21: The Hornets lose a close one to cap a great year.

Class 5A quarterfinals

• Cathedral Prep 28, Peters Township 27: The Ramblers knock off the WPIAL champs.

Class 6A quarterfinals

• North Allegheny 28, McDowell 17: The Trojans hang tough in loss.
