Who is on The Bulletin Preseason Boys Basketball Dream Team?

The 2023-24 boys basketball season got underway this week. Here’s a look at our preseason "Dream Team" and our "Players to Watch" from Norwich Free Academy, Plainfield, Griswold, Killingly, Norwich Tech and Ellis Tech.

Jeff Brown begins his first season at NFA looking for an up-tempo approach in the always competitive Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I.

Rob Mileski, now in his 15th season with Griswold, lost a core group of seniors from a team that won the ECC Division II tournament title and made a magical run to the CIAC Division IV semifinals last March.

Josh Adamec replaces longtime Plainfield coach Bob Arremony, who retired with over 500 wins, and will look to bounce back from a two-win season a year ago.

“This team had a disappointing season last year and they’ve worked hard individually to change that,” Adamec said. “There's no doubt they will be more successful this year.”

Jim Crabtree, who guided Killingly to the ECC tournament finals and the CIAC Division IV quarterfinals a year ago, begins his 12th season in the Quiet Corner.

In the Connecticut Technical Conference, Mike Froscello begins his second year at Norwich Tech with high expectations again in the always tough CTC Charter Oak Division, while longtime Ellis Tech coach Dan Piccione will rely on a senior laden group in 2023-24.
